CHAPTER 10 REVELATION

What is Man......?
by Guy Morris
CHAPTER 10 REVELATION

I awoke twice with this 10th chapter before me the other night and believe the Lord wants to speak about it. I will repeat some things that has been said in other letters to you but that is just what this book of Revelation does. What is said in one chapter is also spoken in others chapters as each vision is shown to the apostle John. Each vision interacts with other visions, plus scriptures in the old and New Testament.

When I read this 10th chapter again we find it is a short chapter; only 11 verses long. It is much like an outline of what is spoken in detail in other places of Revelation. I came to the last four verses of this chapter which says;

"And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings"Revelation 10:8-11.

Immediately in my heart these words come to me over and over again. WHAT IS MAN THAT THOU ART MINDFUL OF HIM? To those of you who read the scriptures know this is what Hebrews the 2nd chapter speaks of. It also comes from Psalms 144.

It's important to see the messenger in the 1st verse is Jesus because He is the only one worthy to take the book from God's hand and open the book one seal at a time. The book speaks to us of where we are in time.

This vision starts out with this "And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book (open) and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth."

The rainbow upon His head is the same as we see around the Throne in chapter 4:3. His face shines like the Sun and His feet are pillars of fire. In the next verse He roars like a lion which is the roar of the Lion of Judah.

In this vision when the Lord roared like a lion we think of Joel 2:11 "And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?"

Mankind will receive an awesome responsibility when we reach the time when the book is open. A book so important that when God says it is time; only Jesus is worthy enough to take this book from God and open the seals.

Now we see Jesus handing the open book to man. When it was said to the apostle John the he must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. He was not saying that it would be John himself that would do it. He was using John as a representative to man. Is it no wonder the apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:2-3 "Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?"

When Jesus spoke of His coming again; He said many times the phrase, "coming of the son of man." He would be coming alright but it would be in the son of man, a body of people. Perhaps we can see a greater depth to Hebrews 2:5-8 "for unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. But one in a certain place testified, saying, what is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honor, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him." But now we see not yet all things put under him but we see Jesus.

"And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey" Revelation 10:9.

To eat the open book by mouth with a taste like honey is self explanatory. The belly is a word which means the womb or matrix; a place within which something originates, takes form, the abdomen and figuratively the heart.

The time is the middle of a week period known as the 69th week of Daniel 9:25.

This vision shows us the last half of a time period known as a time, times, and a half; when he shall accomplish to scatter the power of the holy people, Daniel 12:7. The holy people our Lord is talking about here is Babylon; the religious systems, denominations, and false gospels of the world.

What really proves to us that this vision is in the middle of this time period is by the fact the little book in His hand is (opened). This means that all 7 seals are opened and all the tribulation that has accrued up to this point was to bring a people into the Temple to be one with Him.

The time for war has come; Jesus hands the open book to those who must prophesy. It is sweet to know that in about three and a half years time will be no more for this age. The kingdom of God will be set up. When the seventh trumpet is blown we will be changed into a body like our Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 10:7 says "but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets." "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory" 1 Corinthians 15:52-54. The war will bring us to that sweet victory.

War is also bitter as they digest the things written in the open book. These men are just like Moses and Elijah. Revelation 11:4-8, "These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified."

It does not say what kind of death they must suffer but I'm sure they will know. The nations will hate them. What these have prophesied has embittered the nations so much that they will send gifts to each other when they are killed. In the book are also the bitter things that will happen to our brothers and sisters. The enemy of our souls will be very busy. Revelation 13:5-7 "And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

The congregation is ready to support the two witnesses that stand beside the God of the whole earth plus anything else the Lord may ask them to do. The Lord has His army ready to follow Him where ever He goes. These great people willingly gave themselves to the Lord as a sacrifice; a sacrifice spoken of in Daniel 9:27, (known as sacrifice and oblation). It is accomplished during the opening of the seals. It only ceases in the middle of the week because Jesus is here to receive them unto Himself.

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate" Daniel 9:27.

These saints of God know full well of the price it would take to be a fruit harvested from the field and be changed into that which would be worthy enough to come into this heavenly barn and remain. It means that the Lord has already sealed them within Himself just like the days of Noah when he and his family entered the Ark and God shut the door. The women, (wise congregation) will be protected as it is written in the 12th chapter and the 91st Psalm. The two witnesses will also be protected until they have finished obeying the voice of God that comes to them at each trumpet sound plus what is written in the opened book. They must prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth as it is written in the 11th chapter. These which are 144,000 know full well that after their days are fulfilled they will follow the Lord back to Jerusalem. They know they must be slain in the same place their Lord Jesus was slain. Scripture must be fulfilled.

In Revelation 10:3-4 "When the Lord cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roared: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, the apostle John was about to write what was being said and he heard a voice from heaven saying , Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not."

This shows us that each trumpet is the voice of God. John could not write them down because I believe the voice that will come forth when each trumpet is blown is for the Lord's army only. We see more about this part of time in the 8th chapter. Revelation 8:2-6 "And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. Another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound."

When the first trumpet begins to sound...then will these scriptures begin to be fulfilled.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book."

In Revelation this is repeated; Revelation 12:7-10 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."

The seals are all opened which pertain to the tribulation that must be in the first half of the time period. For this reason the Lord speaks of it in this manner; Matthew 24:29-33 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors."

The great tribulation which pertains to the 7 trumpets; the Lord speaks of it in this manner. Matthew 24:9-14 "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

These scriptures come into view Revelation 14:6-8 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."

Daniel 12:3 "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever."

There are 7 trumpets that must be blown during this time called, time, times and a half. Each time a new trumpet sounds we get closer to the time when there is no time left and the 7th trumpet sounds. Revelation 10:5-6 "And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And swore by him that liveth forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer."

I know for a fact of what will be on your hearts; you who are on the inside of Gods refuge. You who will walk as Jesus walked when He was on the earth. You will be thinking about the rest of our family who are taken prisoner by the worldly kings of this world and the righteous judgment due to those kings with the armies they control. Just like Abraham when he knew of Lot had been taken prisoner. It is in the mind of the Lord to deliver all of the Lots of this age. It is those who fill the shoes of those which the Lord called foolish in His parable of the ten virgins.

By this time the foolish ones will be wishing they had not been so foolish and would have prepared themselves more wisely. This scripture says they are now keeping the commandments of the Lord but unfortunately they are not in the door. Revelation 12:17 "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

This scripture speaks of these also who are not in the door; not just those who had been foolish but those who receive Jesus as savior for the first time. Revelation 14:13 "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities" Revelation 18:4-5.

Keep preparing for the coming of our Lord.

In Jesus Name
